Pursuant to the Bankruptcy Amendments and Federal Judgeship Act of 1984, P.L. 98-353, the Regulations of the Judicial Conference of the United States for the Selection of United States Bankruptcy Judge Nominees, and the Procedures of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Council for the Selection of Bankruptcy Judge Nominees, the Sixth Circuit Judicial Council received applications from persons interested in appointment to the bankruptcy judge position in the Western District of Tennessee (with duty station in Memphis, Tennessee). - Free Access to Court Records Increases in 2020
Beginning Jan. 1, 2020, if a PACER user quarterly usage is $30 or less, the bill will be waived. This is an increase from the existing $15 or less quarterly fee waiver. Users will see this reflected in the April 2020 billing statement. This will result in more than 75 percent of users accessing court records paying no fee in a given quarter. The United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee, seeks resumes from persons wishing to be considered for inclusion in a pool of trustees who may be appointed on a case-by-case basis to administer cases filed under the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 (Subchapter V), which amended chapter 11 of title 11 of the United States Code (Bankruptcy Code). - H.R. 2336, the "Family Farmer Relief Act of 2019", which increases the debt limit used to determine whether a family farmer is eligible for relief under chapter 12 of the Bankruptcy Code;:[8/26/2019]
- H.R. 2938, the "Honoring American Veterans in Extreme Need Act of 2019" (HAVEN Act), which excludes from the calculation of monthly income, for purposes of the Bankruptcy Code's means test, certain benefits paid by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense;:[8/26/2019]

The proposed SBRA form changes and interim rules are open for public comment for a period of four weeks, starting on October 16, 2019.
